EXPERIENCES
HIKING
Within the beautiful shadow of the Kerkenberg Mountain is a walk that combines history, culture and family with the untainted splendor of Buffalo Hills Private Game Reserve. The walk starts just past the Mountain Lodge and is approximately 2.5km long.
This is an unguided walk going through the stunning picnic cave to the beautiful Bushman paintings.
BIRDING
During your stay, explore our bird list with over 200 confirmed species of birds that can be seen on the reserve.
Species to look out for such as the Secretary bird, Bearded vulture, Fish Eagle, Ground Woodpecker, and African Snipe to name a few.
FISHING
Enjoy an afternoon’s Large Mouth Bass fishing at one of the many dams on the property. You are also welcome to try your luck at Barbel and Carp fishing at the 47 ha dam.
GAME DRIVES
Enjoy a scenic self-drive, game drive with family and friends through the reserve and spot some of our magnificent wildlife such as African Buffalo, Sable, Roan, Eland, Reedbuck, Zebra, Lechwe, Waterbuck and the Secret Six.
REMEMBER: Buffalo are dangerous! Keep your distance.
Please note a 4×4 vehicle is needed to access these routes.
